Introduction

Laboratory for Engineering and Scientific Computing (LESC) is a leading laboratory on high performance numerical computing and its research covers areas including aerospace engineering, high-speed rail technologies, computational hemodynamics, environmental fluid dynamics, etc. Equipped with the latest supercomputing technologies, LESC aims to carry out fundamental research in parallel algorithm development for partial differential equation and also to develop practical software for solving engineering problems on large-scale supercomputers with tens of thousands or even millions of processor cores.

The LESC team has scientists, engineers, post-doctoral associates and graduate students, short- and long-term visiting scholars as well, with a wide range of backgrounds in applied mathematics, computational physics, biomechanical engineering, parallel computing, and software engineering.
